He will check your property on energy efficiency, report about ‘weak spots’ and advise about possible improvements. We call it the MrFix Energy Efficiency Check: not an official structural survey but a quick check of your home with specific recommendations for energy efficiency, followed (if you wish) by quick implementation. Result: serious savings on your energy bill and a serious contribution to a greener world.
Nowadays energy efficiency gets ever more attention when selling or buying a property. Many customers apply for an Energy Efficiency Check right before or just after moving in their new house. In fact because of the increasing costs of energy it is always very sensible to ask for such a check. Did you know that Amsterdam and other Dutch cities will spend millions of euros on stimulating citizens to switch from natural gas to electricity in order to achieve future climate targets? You may receive up to thousands of euros in subsidy per home for switching. The ultimate goal is to make your home as sustainable as possible until it generates about as much energy as it consumes: we call that ‘zero on the meter’!
The rate for an Energy Efficiency Check is €55 per hour including call-out charge and VAT. The expert goes through the relevant checklist with you and leaves the list for you. You decide whether you want to have any improvements carried out by our expert. If the expert works 4 hours or more on making your home more energy efficient, he even offers the Energy Efficiency Check free .
Aspects of the Energy Efficiency Check
You decide which area / areas the expert focuses on during the Energy Efficiency Check:
- Is the window glazing double or even triple?
- Is all lighting energy-efficient (LED or other)?
- Are solar panels in place?
- Is the floor well isolated?
- Do all outer doors and windows close properly?
- Are there motion detectors for those nightlights that are not needed all night long?
- Is the roof properly isolated?
- Are the outer walls properly isolated?
- Has a Nest or other smart thermostat been fitted?
- Are the mailbox and outer doors fitted with anti-draft strips?
- Is there a heat pump for geothermal heating?
